Ellis Island

Ellis Island is near the Statue of Liberty, a gift from the French government, thas became a symbol of hope and freedon for the immigrants.

 

In the Ellis Island Immigration Station, government officiers checked the immigrants' documents and doctors gave them a quick physical examination.

Between 1892 and 1954 people who believed in the American dream passed through here.
